Privacy policy

Quran Worlds is a content website. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the site, and we do not sell it. This page says plainly what happens when you visit, including what Google does when it serves the ads that pay for the site.

Who we are

Quran Worlds is an independent educational publisher, reachable at hello@quranworlds.com. For visitors in the UK and EU: we are the "data controller" for this site, and that address is how you reach us about anything on this page.

What we collect

• No accounts. There is nothing to sign up for, so we hold no names, emails, or passwords, unless you email us directly.
• No first-party tracking cookies. We set no cookies of our own to follow you. The only cookies this site can involve are the advertising and analytics ones described below, and those come from Google.
• Server logs. Our host keeps standard, short-lived access logs (IP address, browser, page requested) to serve the site and defend against abuse. We don't use them to build a profile of you.

Advertising and cookies

Status: Ads are not running on this site yet (as of 16 July 2026). This section describes what will happen when they are, and applies from the day they appear.

• This site is supported by Google AdSense. Google is a third-party vendor and uses cookies to serve ads.
• Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
• You can turn personalized ads off at Google Ads Settings ↗. You can opt out of many other vendors at aboutads.info ↗ and youronlinechoices.eu ↗.
• In the UK, EU, and Switzerland we deny advertising and analytics storage by default until you choose, and Google's certified consent message asks you before any such cookie is set. Change your mind any time through that message.
• Third-party vendors we don't control may also set cookies once an ad loads; their own policies govern that. Google's is at policies.google.com ↗.

Analytics

If and when we enable analytics, it is Google Analytics 4, used only in aggregate to see which pages are read, never to identify you. In the UK, EU, and Switzerland it is held to the same consent default as advertising above: denied until you say otherwise.

Embedded video

Video thumbnails are static images. A YouTube player loads only after you click play, and we use the privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com domain. Once a player loads, Google's own privacy policy applies to that player.

Recitation audio

The Listen control on a verse streams the recitation from Islamic Network's free Quran CDN ↗, and only when you click it, and nothing audio-related loads otherwise. To deliver the file, your IP address is visible to that CDN, as it is to any server you request a file from. We set no cookie for this, and we receive nothing back about who listened.

Outbound links

We link to sources (NASA, NOAA, ESA, journals, quran.com and others) so you can check our claims. Those sites have their own policies.

Your choices and rights

Because we hold no accounts, there is usually nothing here tied to you personally beyond short-lived server logs. Wherever you are, one address handles all of it: hello@quranworlds.com. We do not sell or share your personal information, and we have never done so.

• United States. Under state privacy laws (California's CCPA/CPRA, and equivalents in Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas and others) you may ask what personal information we hold, ask us to delete it, and opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front; to opt out of personalized ads generally, use the Google and industry links above. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of this.
• Canada. Under PIPEDA you may request access to any personal information we hold about you and challenge its accuracy or our handling of it. If our answer doesn't satisfy you, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
• UK, EU, and Switzerland. You have the right to access, correct, delete, and object to the processing of your personal data, to withdraw consent at any time, and to complain to your national data protection authority. Our legal basis is your consent for advertising and analytics cookies, and legitimate interest for the short-lived security logs that keep the site running.

Quran Worlds is made for viewers in the USA, Canada, and Europe, and this section covers all three, which is why the European rules appear here even though most of our readers are in North America. They are also not optional: privacy law follows the visitor rather than the audience you had in mind, and Google requires a certified consent message for anyone served ads in the UK, EU, or Switzerland.

Children

This site is for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

We date this page whenever it changes, and we update it before a new use of data (such as ads or analytics) goes live, not after.
